This seminar focuses on the practical techniques and application methods needed to apply vibration analysis as an equipment care and troubleshooting tool. Candidates will gain a thorough understanding of the techniques available, terminology used, and how to best utilize available technology tools. In order to a gain a thorough understanding considerable time is spent on spectral pattern recognition, "relative motion" analysis, alarm band setup and fine-tuning the field analyzer to provide more complete information.


Candidates will leave knowing how to: determine specific equipment faults, utilize vibration inspection in ASD/RCA analyses, gauge current program results, advance integration with other predictive technologies and more effectively communicate with vibration analysts. Candidates will learn what electrical condition monitoring techniques are available and how to utilize them for equipment care strategies. Technologies include on-line and off line testing and the motor circuit faults that can be detected. Students will understand typical various facility electrical and instrumentation systems, the principles of operation for the various components that comprise them and how these systems: function, functionally fail (with failure modes), effect process control and how to more effectively troubleshoot them to achieve optimum performance. Session attendees will understand the value of these technologies to improve asset performance and reduce variability within process systems.
