Summary of Qualifications / Career Overview

Kirk Hill demonstrated his technical and mechanical aptitude on his first job for a manufacturer of automotive exhaust systems where he earned a promotion from Equipment Operator to Setup Technician within the first 6 months of his employment. Five years later he was promoted to front-line supervisor with 50 direct reports. Kirk's next role as an Assistant Manager for an Auto Parts chain was a career milestone. He reorganized and operated the machine shop. In this role he polished his people skills learning how to present information to diverse audiences from entry level Technicians to seasoned Mechanics—a skill that would later become a cornerstone of his career as an instructor.

In 1994 Kirk became a Welder/Fitter for a contracting group that supported a manufacturer of titanium dioxide pigment, sodium chlorate, and manganese metal. He joined the company as a Maintenance Technician B in 1999 and within 2 years was promoted Technician A where he repaired and installed pumps, drives, feeders, bulk handling conveyors and elevators. Kirk's career took another pivotal turn in 2008 when he attended the first of 2 classes on “Precision Maintenance” taught by Reliability Solutions. He was so inspired that he continued to communicate with the instructor to expand his application of “Precision Maintenance” and alignment skills. His mechanical expertise and training abilities were recognized and sought by the maintenance team and the Vice President of Global Operations. In 2012 he was promoted to a new role as Technical Skills Educator where he designed and taught “Precision Maintenance” principles for pumps, drives, belt drives, equipment installation and alignment techniques for 95 employees. In January of 2015 Kirk joined Reliability Solutions to expand the impact of “Precision Maintenance” to employers globally.
